Colposcopy plays an important role in the National Health Service Screening programme and this department is extremely busy with 18 sessions a week. To allay anxieties all patients referred to the clinic are sent an information leaflet with their appointment.

Two Nurse Colposcopists have been appointed to the department following an intensive 2 year training programme in our Colposcopy department. Patients are advised in both the information leaflet and the post-treatment leaflet to contact them should they have any queries concerning their treatment.
