| The field of assisted
conception is constantly changing and we are all striving to find
ways in which we can make treatment more successful and safer. During
your time with us, you may be asked to participate in various aspects
of research.
Any research that is carried out within our unit has to have both
the approval of the hospital Ethics Committee, and in most cases,
the approval of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority
(HFEA).
If you are asked to participate you will be given very detailed
information concerning the research and the opportunity to discuss
any concerns you may have with a member of staff. In any event,
the decision to take part in research is entirely yours and requires
your written consent.
Please do not feel that you have to take part in any research and
rest assured that you will not be treated any differently if you
decide not to take part.
